Part-time Childcare Worker

Objective: To provide dependable, safe, secure, and nurturing care to the children, ages 0-4 years, on Sunday and for special events.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for providing age-appropriate care, which includes feeding, changing diapers, escorting to the bathroom, maintaining a safe environment, holding, or sitting with and cheerfully interacting with children through games, stories, and play.
• Be polite, friendly, and courteous to all children, parents, and volunteers.
• Childcare hours include Sunday, 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM. You are expected to work on Sundays even if it falls on a holiday.
• The opportunity for extra work will be announced at least two weeks prior to an event.
• Stay until the children are released to the responsible adult named on the child’s registration form.
• In the event of an emergency notify the parent or church staff.
• Straighten the room and clean and sanitize all washable toys before leaving.
• Report problems or incidents that may hinder the ability to carry out the duties and/or responsibilities of the caregivers to the CE Coordinator or Director of Membership and Administration.
• Always abide by all Safe Church policies of First Congregational Church of Houston.
• Maintain current CPR and first-aid training for infants and children.

Qualifications

• Experience in caring for children between the ages of 0 to 4; must be adaptable, loving, understanding, and able to lift 40 pounds.
• At least 18 years of age and a high school graduate or equivalent.
• Satisfactory completion of a criminal background check.
• Must have or obtain CPR and first-aid training for infants and children.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 per hour
