Volunteering at FCC
It is important to our members that we live a life of service. This includes service to our church and to the greater community we live in. As we are urged in the book of Peter – “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”
Every Sunday, volunteers greet worshippers as they arrive at the Meeting House. Other volunteers serve as lay readers, deliver the children’s message, assist with communion, sing in the choir, and teach Sunday school.
The elected officers of the church – the moderator, the vice moderator, the treasurer, and the clerk – are all volunteers. As are the members who serve on our numerous boards and committees.
Our members share their time and talents with many non-profits and philanthropic organizations in the Houston area. Some of the non-profits we support are Memorial Area Ministries, Literacy Advance, Kids’ Meals, Houston Food Bank, Bridges to Life, Casa Juan Diego, Fruit Share Houston, and various food pantries.
